ADOPTION

One of the results of rescuing and rehabilitating animals is that, eventually,  they will need a new permanent home.

The goal of the adoption program is to place each horse in a permanent home suited to the needs of the individual horse. Grass pasture, shelter, and safe fencing is required. Permanent ownership of the horse remains with PER and no horse may be bred, sold, leased or given away. Our goal is for the horse to have a forever home for the rest of his or her life; A place where they can be safe and cared for without ever being neglected or passed from person to person again.

There is an adoption fee for each equine, which reflects a small portion of the medical and feed expenses incurred by PER.

If you think you might want to adopt one our equines, please download an Adoption Application, complete it, and email it, or mail it to: Panhandle Equine Rescue, Inc., P.O. Box 777, Cantonment, FL  32533. One of our staff will then contact you for an interview over the phone and set up a time to drop by and inspect your place. If approved, we try and match you up with the right horse that will best suit your needs. In the event the adopter can no longer care for the equine, he comes back to PER to be placed for adoption again. Lifetime follow-up on all equines ensure that they are never abused or neglected again.
