How You Can Help

PER relies solely on the generosity of people like you to carry out its mission of education, investigation, intervention, rescue, and rehabilitation. There are several ways you can help PER and the horses, ponies, mules, and donkeys they rescue. You can make a big difference in the life of a neglected or abused equine.

1. Donate an item on our wish list. Mail it to the address below or contact Diane Lowery at  850-587-2754 to arrange a drop-off location.

  • Dependable Full Size Pickup to pull horse trailer
  • Nutrena Safechoice Feed
  • Nutrena or Seminole Senior Feed
  • Nutrena Triumph Pellets
  • Hay
  • Beet Pulp
  • Bagged Shavings
  • Paste Wormers
  • Fly Spray
  • Fly Masks
  • One-pound Salt Blocks
  • Corral Panels
  • Cargo Trailer
  • 8 ft. folding table for booths
  • Glossy Photo Paper
  • Gift Card for Jeffers Equine

2. Make a financial donation. All donations are tax deductible!

Make A Donation through PayPal or if you would like to mail a donation or an item from our wish list, our mailing address is: Panhandle Equine Rescue, P.O. Box 777, Cantonment, FL 32533.

Thank you J&B Feed & Supply on Hwy 87 in Navarre for their recent donation of feed!

3. Provide a Foster Home for an equine. PER absorbs all the costs. All you do is provide your facility and lots of TLC. All homes must be pre-approved.

4. Adopt an equine. An adoption application must be filled out and approved. You will then be contacted by our adoption coordinator who will come out to do an "on site" inspection.

5. Become a member of PER. We have monthly meetings, fund raisers, and get-togethers. This is a great opportunity to get to know like-minded people when it comes to rescue.

6. Sponsor an equine for as little as $15.00 a month. We have equines in our foster homes that require long term care before they are considered adoptable. Some are never able to be adopted out because of special needs.  Your sponsorship goes towards the care of any equine that you choose. You will receive a quarterly update on the progress of the equine, as well as an  updated picture.

7. Order a t-shirt and wear it! To purchase a t-shirt, download the order form. To use paypal, use the  "Donations" button above. Then put t-shirts under "notes". If you want to include your order and shipping address there, that would be fine too. Courtney, from Dry Creek Western Outfitters in Cantonment, Florida was nice enough to model our t-shirts! Stop by there to get your horse supplies, tack or western apparel!

8. Participate in the Jeffers Affiliate Program. When you place an internet order with Jeffers Equine, PER receives a percentage of the sale.

9. Volunteer your time or talent. There are many ways in which you can serve. We especially need:

  • Trainers
  • Investigators: To become an investigator, you first must spend a considerable amount of time riding with trained investigators in order to understand the laws and how we operate. If you qualify, you would then need to be added to the judges order for approval. We also do continuing education through any courses available within a reasonable distance on a yearly basis. If you are interested in investigating, complete and submit the investigator application.
