The Junkyard Five

In March 2008 PER was awarded custody in a civil case that involved two horses, two donkeys, and one mule that were being forced to live in deplorable conditions in Molino.
They were standing in water, mud and manure in a junkyard. They were also reported as roaming at large on several occasions. After working with the owner for over a year, conditions only became worse, so the animals were seized.
